Bills Snag FSU's Keon Coleman in Round 2 of NFL Draft

The Buffalo Bills addressed their obvious wide receiver need at last on draft night, trading down twice to select Florida State’s Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Coleman joins a wideout room that is currently led by Khalil Shakir, Justin Shorter, Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, and K.J. Hamler after Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis left during the summer.

Coleman (6-foot-3, 213 pounds) gives the Bills’ receiving corps much-needed size. His aggressive style of play and adeptness with the ball should complement Josh Allen’s strong arm.

Coleman transferred to FSU in 2023 following two seasons at Michigan State, where he recorded 50 receptions, 658 yards, and 11 touchdowns while being named to the first team of the ACC. But because of his patchy performance, there were doubts about his ability to make the move to the NFL.

Coleman isn’t a burner, but his physicality and highlight-reel catches make him a target that might be hazardous. His ability to block will be helpful in Buffalo’s offensive scheme, which prioritizes runs.

Although the Bills filled a significant need with Coleman, they may not be finished at wide receiver just yet. As the draft progresses, anticipate more movements.
